You can
call me Cass.

I grew up in the middle of nowhere on a farm in Indiana. We had a tractor day at my high school, where you show off your favorite John Deere in the parking lot. I spent a summer walking soybean fields spraying milkweeds by hand. I walked 20 feet to the sweet corn field outside my 130-year-old farmhouse to get dinner. So it's no wonder I ended up in Brooklyn. As you can imagine, it reminded me a lot of home.

Now I've been in New York longer than in the Hoosier state. When I'm not thanking my lucky stars that I no longer have to do my banking out of a trailer (it’s true, ask me about it), I’m baffled at my 15-year-old daughter’s audacity to keep growing up despite my many protests. I also recently adopted a Corgi named Penguin, who is easily the bossiest personality in our Brooklyn apartment.

Besides that, you’ll find me at the gym, in a yoga class, or studying up on fitness. Like any good writer, I enjoy reading. And like any good professional smartass, I enjoy comedy in all its forms.
